June 19, 2025 Traveling Seniors Itinerary for Caledonia

• Depart Open Door Church at 10 AM

• Arrive at Caledonia State Park at 10:20 AM (park in front lot)

• Welcome by Wesley Folz, Park Ranger with an orientation of Caledonia State Park, Iron Ore Industry

• Meet Thaddeus Stevens, portrayed by Ross Hetrick for presentation about Stevens and tour of the Caledonia Ironworks Blacksmith Shop, which is a National Park Service Network to Freedom site

• Drive bus to parking lot that adjoins Pine Pavilion

• Hearth cooking and picnic lunch with Cathy Herdtfelter of Summercreek Catering. Cathy will cook the lunch on site and let everyone participate in making the dessert. Both Wesley and Thaddeus/Ross will be invited to dine with the traveling seniors and talk about the significance of the site, answer questions

• Depart by 2:30 PM to return to Open Door Church by 3:00 PM.
